What is the first album/single that you bought?
When I was about 12 years old, I got Amy Winehouse’s album ‘Back to Black’ for Christmas as well as my first CD player. I listened to it on repeat!
What is your earliest musical memory?
Being dragged to classical violin and piano lessons by my mom!
Is there a particular song/band/singer that made you want to be a musician?
When I was 12, I (along with every other 12 year old girl in the world) discovered Taylor Swift and became obsessed with her and her songs. I learned all of her songs on guitar and knew all of her lyrics. Soon after this I started writing my own songs, so maybe that was influenced by Taylor!
Is there a song/band that you love that was introduced to you by someone else?
My friend introduced me to Maggie Rodgers a few months ago, which I am very grateful for. I love her!
Is there a song whose lyrics resonate with you and why so?
Yellow Flicker Beat by Lorde. The lyrics are so visual.
The band/musician that you grew up listening to?
Leonard Cohen.
What song do you wish that you had written and why?
Another Love by Tom Odell. It manages to say so much with a few words.
What song transports you back in time and why?
Close Every Door by Andrew Lloyd Webber. I remember my mom playing this on piano when I was younger.
Which song makes you dance when you hear it?
New Rules by Dua Lipa.
Which song makes you sad when you hear it?
Chelsea Hotel by Leonrad Cohen – but in a good way!
What was the first gig you went to?
Paolo Nutini in Killarney.
What was the first song that you ever performed?
It’s hard to remember… probably a Coldplay song in a school recital!
