The last song you listened to?

Emerald rush – John Hopkins. An absolute anthemic tune that combines staggered rhythms and great electronic sounds.

What is your earliest musical memory?

My earliest memory of music would probably be listening to The Streets album “A grand don’t come for free” and Oasis “What’s the story morning Glory”. Myself and my brothers had a small breakable pool table in our bedroom growing up and these two albums would be on in the background.

Do you have a favorite song that was featured in a film or tv show?

I always appreciated the use of Festival by Sigur Ros in the film 127 hours later. It perfectly encaptures the freedom that the main character feels after being stuck in the cave for so long.

Is there a song that instantly reminds you of a particular person?

Something in the way by the Beatles will always remind me of a particular friend. We’d play it at 3am every Saturday morning without fail in 2018

Is there a song whose lyrics resonate with you and why so?

I always appreciated The Villagers song becoming a Jackal. It feels like the lyrics had been written hundreds of years ago, really cool Shakespearean type wordplay.

The band/musician that you grew up listening to?

Fleetwood Mac

What song do you wish that you had written and why?

Blue Monday by New order. Perfect dance song that has an up-beat tempo with quite reflective sad lyrics. It’s the best of both worlds.

What song transports you back in time and why?

Dancing in the moonlight by Thin Lizzy will always remind me of a pub back in Northern Ireland. Two fellas with long hair and biker jackets both with a fretless guitar and bass had played the song immaculately. It’s still the most impressive thing I’ve ever seen.

Which song makes you sad when you hear it?

In my heart – Moby

Which song makes you happy when you hear it?

I am the resurrection – Stone Roses

What was the first gig you went to?

Oasis/Faithless/Prodigy in Slane Castle, still to this day one of the craziest mosh pits I have ever been part of.

What was the first song that you ever performed?

Club foot – Kasabian

What was the first album/single that you bought?

Cast no Shadow – Oasis

Is there a song that you always listen to whilst travelling in the car or on the bus/train ?

Paul Brady – Lakes of Ponchartrain

Is there a particular song/band/singer that made you want to be a musician?

Jimi Hendrix

Omonoko’s new track “Weight In Gold is out now, listen here
